Ans: SavDen® MTA powders are highly hygroscopic and, when exposed to the atmosphere, will absorb moisture and begin to hydrate. SavDen® MTA is packaged in DUPONT TYVEK sheet and containers of appropriate size. Recent research has shown that opening the container causes changes in the particle size of the remaining powder, which likely has implications in terms of delayed setting and inferior resulting material. Single-use packaging is ideal. Alternatively, airtight jars allow fewer changes in stored material. Refrigeration of SAVDEN® MTA should be avoided.
