SavDen® MTA Root Canal Filling Materials

SavDen® MTA Root Canal Filling Materials

  • Fast setting
  • Great handing property
  • Improved sealing property
  • Improved biocompatibility
  • No interaction with tissue fluid
  • No Discoloration

tYDS has very successfully developed SavDen® MTA , a novel  technology patented at TMU using a proprietary dual-function additive, resulting in a fast setting, cement based filling material. The patented technologies are intended to use for dental and orthopaedic applications, such as endodontic treatment, high strength bone cement for replacing PMMA, and bone void filler. Our products are focused on bioactive, inorganic hydraulic formulas and the latest in materials technology to create and manufacture unique, higher-quality medical devices for dentistry and orthopaedics.

In summary, the SavDen® MTA has the following benefits or advantages:

  • Reduced setting time to 15 minutes, so improved patient satisfaction and patient turnaround time

  • Great handing property

  • Improved sealing property

  • Improved biocompatibility

  • No interaction with tissue fluid

  • No Discoloration

Sealingability and Biocompatibility in the Endodontics

As shown in group A, the dye-penetration test, extremely absent dye-invasion indicated better sealingability of SavDen® MTA in the root-end filling. In the cell survival assay(group B), the survival rate of osteoblast MC3T3-E1 cells on the SavDen® MTA -hydrated tablet(109.1±7.5%) is better than on the ProRoot® MTA-hydrated tablet(96.5±4.0%)*. In addition, on the surface of SavDen® MTA -hydrated tablet, microspikes and nuclear protrusions were observed in the cytoplasm, which appeared healthy and adherent. Thus, it revealed that SavDen® MTA provided a more biocompatible environment for cells in cell-adhesion and proliferation.

 No Discoloration

After 1 year incubation, teeth of the SavDen® MTA group and the Biodentine® group kept no discoloration. By contrast, discolorated teeth of ProRoot® MTA  group were observed.

Indications

1.Internal Resorption Filling
Because of its excellent marginal sealing and the property to stimulate osteoblastic adherence to the root surface, SavDen® MTA  is ideal in perforating internal root resorption.

2.Apexification
SavDen® MTA  creates a permanent apical plug at the outset of treatment, no interim procedures are needed, making it an excellent material for apexification.

3.Root End Filling
Its excellent sealing ability and promotion  of periradicular healing make SavDen® MTA ideal as a root-end filling material.

4.Perforation Repair
SavDen® MTA is a cementogenic and osteogenic biomaterial with good biocompatible sealing properties and is ideal for use as a repair material in cases of pulp, furcation and canal perforations.

5.Pulp Capping
SavDen® MTA  is an effective pulp capping material. When  gently  placed  over the pulpal exposure site, it creates a biocompatible sealing of the pulp.
